Specializing in Small & Midsized IT Infrastructure Needs for the NYC area

My major strengths are in the areas of network infrastructure design, implementation, and troubleshooting and in project management. In addition, with varied career back- grounds in academia, industrial research, Wall Street, and information technology, I can draw on a rich pool of experiences for any engagement.

As to my background, after six years of teaching and conducting research at universities, I went on to IBM Research as a member of its research staff for a couple of years. In a major career shift, I then moved on to Wall Street where I traded equity options for my own American Stock Exchange member firm for more than ten years. Following that, I became interested in the growing PC revolution and decided to reenter the technology field. I became a Microsoft Certified Professional in 1996 and earned my first MCSE in 1997. I then worked for a couple of Microsoft-partner consulting firms until 2001, when I became an independent consultant.

Around seven years ago, I became very interested in TCP/IP based internetworking. I became a Cisco CCNA in 2000, and have now earned the CCDP, CCNP, and several wireless specialist and voice related certifications from Cisco. My interests have clearly expanded from the PC, Server, and Exchange world of my past to general network infrastructure concerns, including wireless applications and security. I now partner with both Microsoft and Cisco and consult on a wide range of network technology solutions.

I believe, and I think my clients would concur, that I am highly motivated, intelligent, resourceful, and trustworthy. In addition, I like to think my background in psychology helps to make me especially attentive to client needs, concerns, expectations, and sensitivities. I enjoy challenges, especially of a networking nature, and my greatest reward is seeing the look of satisfaction on my client's face.
